Organigram Expansions Continues to Fuel Recruitment, Team Development

April 30, 2018

MONCTON, NB, April 30, 2018 - When Greg Engel became CEO of Organigram (OGI) in March 2017, he had a clear but ambitious goal: to assemble a world-class team of professionals who are passionate about OGI’s business and customers.

At the time, Organigram had a team of 70 professionals. Today, that team is more than 260 strong – nearly a four-fold increase since Greg arrived. Since January 2018, as work had been completed on Phase 2 of Organigram’s 100,000 square-foot facility expansion and work continues on Phase 3, more than 150 employees have been added to the OGI roster.

Opportunities exist in multiple disciplines within the business, but production and sanitation currently represent the areas of greatest growth. Strong leaders are in demand too, with a growing number of opportunities in management within the company.

“As in any industry, demand creates growth,” says Engel. “As Organigram’s reputation as an industry-leading innovator and producer of premium quality cannabis has grown, so has our need to hire and develop exceptional teams who share our commitment to excellence.”

Organigram continues to anticipate significant business growth as the company expands its existing medical cannabis production and prepares for the adult recreational cannabis market.

The company has been applauded by leaders of various levels of regional government recently for this massive job creation and the subsequent ripple effect on the local economy.

To date, roughly 90 per cent of new hires have come from the Moncton area, but growing national and international opportunities are sure to spur broader recruitment efforts including those already underway in Mexico and the Philippines.
